SOLD: Former Skakel Victorian Mansion on Maple Ave

On Nov. 13 Megan Flanigan, aka Megan Skakel, sold her home at 115 Maple Ave to David Hopper Trustee for $2,600,000. Megan Skakel’s father-in-law, George Skakel,  brother of Rushton and Eunice, perished in a tragic plane accident. According to the assessor’s office, the white 5,768 sq ft Victorian at 115 Maple sits on .87 acre opposite Brunswick School.

In 1992 the home was purchased by Megan and George Skakel from Douglas and Clare Watson for $855,000. On Jan 10, 2014 the house was transferred to Megan Flanigan Skakel.

Zillow lists the home’s unique details, including etched glass pocket doors, beautifully paneled foyer, high ceilings, many fireplaces a lovely newer kitchen with an adjacent family room, fireplace and large center island. The home has French doors that open to a large deck overlooking a large level private yard, and, in addition to many ensuite bedrooms there is a finished lower level with gym/office and climbing room.
