Rosina Forte, of Greenwich, passed away June 7, 2023, at age 88.
She was born October 24, 1934 in Rose, Cosenza, Italy, to Pasquale and Chiara Furano. Rosina worked many jobs over the years, but her greatest role was that of homemaker and caretaker to her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who loved to cook and tend to her garden.
In her early years in Italy, she worked on a farm and it grew into her lifelong love of animals. She is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, the late Paolo Forte, and with her grandson, Steven Michael Kompar (son of Michael and Frances) and her brother, Dionigi Furano.
Rosina is the cherished mother of Roseanne Sanford (Mark T. Sanford, deceased), Frances Kompar (Michael) and Alfredo Forte (Adele).
She is the loving grandmother of Christina Kampler (Zachary), Giulia Alley (David), Amelia Sanford, Mark E. Sanford, Paul Forte and Victoria Forte and great-grandmother of David Mark and Daniel Michael. She is the dear sister of Carmine Furano (Anna, predeceased), Lina Bria (Girolamo) and the late Dionigi Furano Sr. (Emma).
To honor Rosina’s life, family and friends will gather on Friday, 4:00-6:00pm at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich, 203-869-5968.
Funeral Mass, Saturday, 10:00am at Sacred Heart Church in Byram, followed by entombment at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
