Rosaria Orlando, 88

Rosaria Orlando, of Greenwich, passed away April 3, 2023. She was 88.

Rosaria was born January 6, 1935 in Rose, Calabria, Italy to Giuseppe and Chiara Smeriglio. As a young girl in Italy, she worked as a seamstress. She met her beloved husband, the late, Dario Orlando, in Italy, where they wed and immigrated to the United States in 1960.

Rosaria was full of energy and is fondly remembered as a hard-working matriarch of her family. Her first job in America was with Electrolux, where she mastered fixing and tinkering with electronics. For over 30 years, she worked in the kitchen of Greenwich Hospital, namely in charge of making salads and desserts. Above all, she lived to take care of her family.

She would cook and care for them always, making meals and ultimately, memories. Rosaria leaves behind her cherished children, Domenica Haas (James), Romano Orlando (Kim) and Joseph Orlando (Carla), loving grandchildren, Jacquelyn Haas (Matt Schlosser), Sara Haas (Mike Brandofino), Julie
Radwanski (Ryan), Dario Orlando, Sophia Orlando and Romano Orlando (Samantha) and great grandchildren, Alicia & Michael. She is also the dear sister of Rita Anno and the late, Frank & Rocco
Smeriglio. Rosaria is also survived by her sisters in law, Armida and Anna Orlando and Elizabeth
Smeriglio along with many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday 8:30-10:15am at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home located at 134 Hamilton Ave Greenwich, 203-869-5968.
