Donald Hoer of Greenwich, passed away peacefully after a long illness on September 12, 2022 at the age of 69.
Donnie was born on September 20, 1952 to Walter and Phyllis Hoer and grew up in Yonkers, NY.
He attended St. Eugene’s Elementary School and graduated from Roosevelt High School in Yonkers.
He worked for Shemin’s Nursery in Greenwich for many years before retiring. It was in his youth that his love of horses began at the Wilmot Stables in Eastchester, NY where he made many life-long friends. He was a long time member of the Fairfield-Westchester Professional Horsemen’s Association and enjoyed riding his beloved horse Brian.
Donnie had a hearty sense of humor, enjoyed good food, the company of his friends and loved ones, and a little bit of beer from time to time.
He is survived by his brothers, Richard (pre-deceased Diana) and Robert Hoer (Patricia), sister Vicky Margolies (Doug), his nieces and nephews, Emiley Connors (Matthew), Jason (Marian), Michael, Katherine and Lindsay Hoer, Taylor and Sam Margolies and grandnephew, Jimmy Hoer.
