The Greenwich Republican Municipal primary for Board of Estimate and Taxation is set for Tuesday, Sept 9.
Early voting runs Sept 2 to Sept 7 at Greenwich Town Hall.
The re are 12 candidates of which six were endorsed by the party: David Alfano, Nisha Arora, Sally Bednar, Harry Fisher Lucia Jansen and Joe Pellegrino.
Six petition candidates are Joshua Brown, Joe Kelly, Leslie Tarkington, Alessandra Brus, Philip Dodson and John Hopley.
Only Greenwich voters who are registered Republicans vote in this primary election.
All 12 of Greenwich’s polling stations will be open on Election Day from 6:00am to 8:00pm.
Unregistered or unaffiliated voters may register as Republicans until 12:00 noon on September 8 and vote in the primary on Sept 9.
Registered Republicans may vote in person at their polling places, by absentee ballot or vote early.
Apply to vote by absentee ballot from the Town Clerk or online at the Connecticut Online Absentee Ballot Request Portal. Absentee ballots will be available starting August 19.
Absentee ballots must be received by the Town Clerk by 8:00pm on election Day. There are 3 ballot boxes for absentee ballots: one along the driveway to Town Hall, one in the Town Hall lobby and one at the public safety complex at 11 Bruce Place.
Early Voting
Early voting for the Primary is available at Town Hall all days including weekends from Tuesday, September 2 to Sunday, September 7. Early voting hours are 10:00am to 6:00pm with extended hours from 8:00am to 8:00pm on Tuesday September 2 and Thursday September 4.
Registering to vote
Only registered Republican voters can vote in the Republican Primary. Residents can register to vote in person at the Registrars of Voters office in Town Hall Monday -Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm. The last day to register in person is September 8 at 12:00 noon with limited special exceptions.
Unaffiliated voters can choose to join a party and vote in a primary. However, voters currently registered in a different party may not change party affiliation to vote in the Primary.

Residents who have a Connecticut driver’s license or DMV-issued non-driver ID can register to vote online here.
