Outdoor Seating Approved for East End on Greenwich Ave

east end An application to add outdoor seating at East End restaurant at the foot of Greenwich Avenue was approved by the Planning & Zoning commission on Tuesday night, July 19.

The approval, which is contingent on the applicant receiving sign-off from the health department, did involve significant discussion.

The drawings of the proposed seating plan, presented by Christopher Bristol, showed the French doors opening outward, with the outdoor seating almost flush against the building.

“The plans show the tables being very tight to the facade of the building, and yet you have the French doors opening out” P&Z chair Mr. Maitland said. “How does that work?” he asked. “Do you have the room to make this work?”

Mr. Bristol assured the commission that the doors open inward, and that the tables won’t jut out into the sidewalk.
