Jill Oberlander has won election to represent Connecticut’s 36th State Senate District. She thanked voters for their confidence and pledged to bring independent leadership,
experience, and a focus on results to Hartford.
“I am deeply honored and grateful that the voters of the 36th District have placed their trust in me,” said Oberlander in a release after the election. “I don’t take that responsibility lightly.”

Oberlander emphasized that the campaign was primarily focused on the everyday
concerns of families and businesses across the district: the rising cost of living,
economic stability and opportunity, and the need to make Connecticut a more
welcoming place for businesses to establish themselves and grow.
“Now, the real work begins. I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and work with colleagues on both sides of the aisle to tackle the challenges we face. We need to make Connecticut more affordable, support our businesses, and care for our most vulnerable residents. The 36th District and our state can be an even better place to live, work, raise a family, and retire,” she said in a release.
Oberlander said her decision to run was less about winning a seat in the State Senate, than standing up for the values she said define Connecticut and protecting the institutions that make democracy work.
Oberlander described her campaign’s grassroots effort, built on thousands of conversations with voters, door-knocking, phone calls, and the dedication of volunteers throughout the district.
“This campaign was about values and this victory belongs to everyone who believed in this campaign and worked so hard to make it happen. I am especially grateful to the many volunteers who gave their time, energy, and heart to this effort, bringing people together around a shared belief that we can do better and that our voices matter. Together we built something that will last beyond election night.”
Oberlander pledged to take that same determination to Hartford, working to strengthen Connecticut, defend its democratic values, and deliver for the people of the 36th District.
