Hey Stamford! Food Festival Announces Partnership with WWE

The Hey Stamford! Food Festival announced on Friday a new partnership with WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc) and V Foundation, to raise awareness and money to support pediatric cancer research through Connor’s Cure.

The news comes shortly after the announcement that the region’s largest food and music festival, now in its fifth year, will be headlined by celebrity chefs and restaurateurs Todd English and Aaron May.

Connor’s Cure was created in honor of 8-year-old WWE fan Connor Michalek, who in 2014 lost his battle with medulloblastoma, a rare tumor that affects the brain and spinal cord.

WWE Interim CEO & Chairwoman, Stephanie McMahon and WWE Executive Vice President Paul “Triple H” Levesque established Connor’s Cure as a fund to support pediatric brain and spinal cord cancer research. Connor’s Cure now raises funding for critical pediatric cancer research at prominent cancer centers nationwide, and to date, has raised nearly $3.6 million to fund research grants and provide family assistance.

WWE Superstars Happy Corbin and Liv Morgan, the new SmackDown Women’s Champion, will be participating in this year’s festival, raising money and awareness for Connor’s Cure and The V Foundation. The WWE Superstars will attend the festival during the first weekend, with Corbin joining Friday, August 12 and Morgan attending Saturday, August 13. Both will be signing autographs and taking photos with fans. Tickets are now available for purchase at HeyStamfordFoodFest.com. All proceeds will directly benefit Connor’s Cure.

“We are very proud to welcome WWE and its Superstars to our festival,” said Ilario Altamura, President of Parachute Concerts and co-producer of the Hey Stamford! Food Festival. “Connor’s Cure is doing such important work and we are honored to be a part of this great effort.”

Portions of festival ticket sales will also benefit Boys & Girls Club of Stamford and The Stamford Family YMCA.

The Hey Stamford! Food Festival will once again take place in Mill River Park for two big weekends in 2022: August 11-14 & 18-21. The festival will feature culinary demonstrations from Chefs Todd English and Aaron May, more than 50 food vendors each weekend with live performances by DJ Pauly D, Flo Rida, I Love the 90’s Tour (featuring Vanilla Ice, Rob Base, All-4-One, Young MC, Kid N Play), Resurrection – A Journey Tribute and more.
