Greenwich Democrats have nominated only one woman to the six-member BET. Gender equity per the Democrat narrative demands that they should have three women on the board. Democrats in town have advocated for gender equity on private boards, but now they are showing their true colors. Some would believe they just did not have women in their ranks – that is not true, so many of the DTC members are women. It appears that men get first dibs. Shameful.
Republicans, on the other hand, have nominated four women to the six-member board. The majority of their caucus will be women. This is so great. At least one party understands that gender equity at the highest levels is not a wish list. It is critical. Kudos to the Republicans for doing this. Vote for the Republican BET majority-women team and vote for gender equity. If you are a registered Democrat, send a strong message by voting across party lines for gender equity.
