I urge voters re-elect Steve Meskers as State Representative for the 150th District. Steve is a staunch advocate for women, children, the elderly, and gun safety, and he has been endorsed by Planned Parenthood and NARAL for his support of women’s rights. He is also a member of the Coastal Caucus, a joint House and Senate committee working to protect Long Island Sound. Steve also continues to sit in the RTM for District 6.
Steve is a respected voice in Hartford, with a reputation for working in a bipartisan way, as he does here in Greenwich. Due to his work ethic and wisdom, Steve is respected by his colleagues on both sides of the aisle. Before entering politics, Steve had a long and successful career in financial services, and his deep experience in finance informs his analysis of the State’s financial issues. In Hartford, Steve chairs the House Commerce Committee and serves on the Finance, Revenue and Bonding, Energy and Technology, and Insurance and Real Estate committees. His experience and influence in Hartford benefit all Greenwich residents, not just the voters in his District. The clearest example is his work this past year to increase the State funding for the construction of the new Central Middle School. Steve successfully led the fight to increase state funding for the project from $7.7 million to $22 million.
I am proud to call Steve my friend and colleague. We need to return his experience, wisdom and voice in Hartford. Please send Steve Meskers back to Hartford as State Representative for the 150th District for his fourth term.
Stephen Selbst
