As your state representatives, we have worked tirelessly, for the last four years, to provide more than $16 million in state funding to our Greenwich Public Schools.
This money is for improved educational cost sharing, unprecedented reimbursement for Central Middle School construction, for Special Education and school lunch program support.
The state grants ease what the town needs to contribute. It is unacceptable for Republicans on the town finance board, the Board of Estimate and Taxation, to slash funding for public education, despite the Board of Education’s bipartisan approval of the school budget.
In one word, it seems “heartless.”
