LETTER: Public Service Has Always Been Oberlander’s Priority

Letter to the editor from Aryan Shayegani, MD

Jill Oberlander has been a close friend of mine for 34 years. We were roommates in college at Cornell University where she was a government major. She has served in leadership positions in college and beyond, and has been very active on non-profit boards that serve the elderly and those in need.

I’ve always been extremely impressed with Jill’s ability to analyze situations and events with nuance and from many different perspectives. She cares about people and thinks deeply about all kinds of issues. I absolutely value her opinion and advice.

After law school at the University of Chicago, when many of her classmates were focused on high-paying jobs, Jill chose to work at the MTA in New York City because public service has always been her priority.

Her record and number of years in public service speak for itself.

Jill has already committed ten years of her expertise to town government.

Greenwich would be lucky to have Jill Oberlander serving the town in the role of first selectman.
