The Decision is in…
On October 22nd, the Freedom of Information Commission rendered its formal decision in the case of Fred Camillo v. Chairman, Board of Education, Greenwich Public Schools, and Board of Education, Greenwich Public Schools. The decision was clear, the ‘emergency meeting’ of October 21 st 2024 was invalid, called by the Democrats to install their preferred Republican stooge to the board and as such is null and void, calling into question the validity of all subsequent meetings. The commission made it clear that this was not about an emergency but more about politics. The purpose of this stunt pulled by the Democrats on the Board of Education was simple – a naked power grab.
To be clear, this was a fraud perpetrated on the Town of Greenwich by the Democrats on the BOE, all for the purpose of gaining control of the Board. It has cost the taxpayers of Greenwich over $300 thousand in legal fees, with more likely to come. They have accused the Republicans of initiating the legal action, but they were the first ones to hire legal counsel.
All of the Democrats on the Board of Education (Karen Hirsh, Laura Kostin, Sophie Koven, and Kathleen Stowe) should immediately resign. Laura Kostin should suspend her campaign.
Paul Cappiali, Fred Camillo’s choice, should be immediately seated on the board.
Will the Democrats do this? Based on the BOE meeting of October 23rd , where Jen Behette was still seated as if she was on the board, one day after the ruling – as if nothing happened, I am not holding my breath. What hubris! This proves that their love and lust for power is too insatiable.
I guess even legal rulings don’t apply to them…
How can we trust Democrats with real power in any governing body in Greenwich? I for one do not want to see any of them near town hall in any official capacity.
I will be voting Row B on November 4th .
