This week I read that senior Greenwich school officials had recently written to the parents of freshman football players in response to the attempt by the team’s school bus driver (last week) to re-enter I95 against traffic. Their letter stated, “We have insisted that this bus driver not be on any of our long routes after school hours moving forward, pending results of this investigation.”
Is it not irresponsible to allow this driver to serve on any bus routes?
What their recent letter did not say is that the AFL-CIO Transportation Union Local 100 (who represents the drivers) had thwarted their efforts to remove an errant driver last year.
I say shame on the union whose actions have placed self-interest above the safety of our children.
