DUUS: Cappiali Has been long active in community affairs

Submitted by Andy Duus

Greenwich is blessed to have so many volunteers contribute so much to our community. Many do so in relative anonymity. There is one volunteer, however, who is becoming much more visible. His name is Paul Cappiali and I strongly endorse his candidacy to serve as our State Representative for the 150th District.

A 4th generation native of Greenwich, Paul and his wife are raising three children (the 5th generation) here.  Long active in community affairs, Paul has served well for the past several years as the Town’s Harbor Master – a surprisingly difficult and challenging job – with little compensation.

Paul’s political priorities are Greenwich-focused, including local control of housing solutions, and support of our police. State-wide, Paul favors disciplined budgeting and spending, and greater transparency in government. He also supports the current Connecticut law allowing abortion up to viability, expansion of access to birth control, and ensuring women have the resources needed to make informed health choices.

Finally, please know that the Democrats are dangerously close to having a supermajority of the Legislature in Hartford, which would allow them to override a gubernatorial veto. Therefore, given the degree to which the current set of local State Representatives vote with the other Democrats in Hartford, Paul’s election assumes even greater importance.

Please vote Row B for Paul and the other Republican candidates.

Thank you,
Andy Duus
