I am extremely disappointed in the actions of Greenwich Democratic BET members, including my opponent for first selectman, that brought about an unprecedented violation of our campaign finance laws and fine from the State Election Enforcement Commission. I am even more disappointed in their reactions and failures to accept responsibility for breaking state law.
People make mistakes. When they are acknowledged, and owned, we should make every effort to move on with a resolve to make sure the act is never committed again. I will let the people of Greenwich be the judge if that is the case here, and will let the facts speak for themselves.
In the end, this is not the Greenwich we know and love. Our town deserves better from its public officials and candidates.
