I have a unique perspective for asking you to vote for Jackie Budkins, for Greenwich Town Clerk on November 7, 2023.
Being a Town Clerk for 22 years and currently the Fairfield County Vice President of the Connecticut Town Clerks Association I know the level of responsibility, hard work, knowledge and understanding it takes to run a Town Clerk’s office. Many people say anyone can do that job; you don’t need to know what you are doing. I strongly disagree. The Town Clerk’s responsibilities cover approximately 432 State Statutes.
Jackie Budkins has been in office for two years which has given her a head start bringing the office to the forefront by modernizing, creating easier access to all town records and dedicated to learning all new procedures and requirements for the ever-changing laws. Not only that, Jackie has completed almost all of the certification classes and will be taking her exam if you place your vote with her.
The certification process is two and a half years long. Do you really want a new person starting from scratch?
Would you as residents want someone inexperienced, and unknowledgeable being responsible for the proper procedures in the recording of and proper handling of your Land Records, Birth, Death, and Marriage Licenses, and preparation of the ballots and the issuance of Absentee Ballots for all elections?
Just a few of the many procedures the Town Clerk performs, I think not!
No one can replicate the excellent job Jackie has done. Re-elect Jackie Budkins on November 7, 2023… Keep your records in the hands of experience!
