Bergstresser: Re-Elect Dayton for BOE, She Has Skills, Knowledge & Experience

To the Editor:

This year we have competitive elections for both parties.  I write this letter in support of incumbent Jennifer Dayton for one of the Democratic seats.

Experience matters when voting for Board of Education (BOE) candidates.  In her first term, Jennifer Dayton has been a leader on the BOE, providing guidance on complicated issues like investing in interventions to solve the achievement gap, addressing the state’s notification on racial balance and creating the first comprehensive strategic plan.  I am confident that she has the skills to unpack multi-dimensional problems and arrive at timely solutions.  We need the knowledge and experience that she brings to the board.

Jennifer has been active in town government for a decade, previously having run in a competitive election to be a member of the Representative Town Meeting.  She served three terms on the RTM serving as a member of the Education Committee, as the district secretary and as chair of the Community Development Advisory Committee.  She understands town government and the value that a strong school district brings to Greenwich.

On November 3rd, vote to re-elect Jennifer Dayton.
