Arzeno: A Proven Record of Results for Greenwich

Submitted by Hector Arzeno, State Rep (D-151)

I am honored to serve as your State Representative for the 151st District and am proud of my record.  I hope I have earned your support as I seek reelection.  Early voting is underway and by all accounts, it’s been very popular.

Unfortunately,  I am aware that I am the target of some rhetoric and unfounded accusations this week that have no place in Greenwich’s local elections.

Connecticut bills are not advanced along divided party lines. Rather it is the bills that address real needs and that uphold our duty as Representatives to serve our local communities that pass into law. My actions as your Representative include:

  • Supporting places that build us up like the Greenwich Boy Scouts and the Boys & Girls Club. Places that care for our seniors like River House Adult Day Care Center and Parsonage Cottage Senior Residence.
  • Delivering on funding for our schools, like $22M for CMS, because our children and families deserve a middle school that can be relied on to open its doors and welcome students each day and bills like HB5008 for nutrition assistance programs that ensure no child goes without lunch at school.
  • $1.8M in broadband funding for businesses and residents.
  • Sponsoring bills like HB 5491 creating a property tax exemption to veterans who have served our country and have a service-connected disability and reducing taxes on retirement income.
  • Giving local voices a seat a the table to incentivize right sized housing investments and keeping local decision-making at home for our community.
  • Expanding our right to vote with early voting and sponsoring bills that add protections to our dedicated poll workers and HB5450 concerning artificial intelligence and deceptive media.
  • In regards to those that spread speculation on a State wide property tax – I have been consistent and  clear that is not something that I favor and my actions show that while in office I have committed and delivered on numerous reductions in taxes.

On November 5th you can shut down the the name calling, negativity, fear mongering, and lies – that is not welcome here. That does not define our community. Your vote to will make a difference on November 5th.

NOTE: The deadline to submit a LTE about a candidate in the Nov 5, 2024 election was Oct 29, 2024 at 12:00 noon.
