What Is Healing Touch?
Healing Touch is an evidence based gentle, non-invasive method that works with the body’s energetic system—often called the biofield—to encourage physiological and emotional well-being. Practitioners use light touch or work just above the body to help promote:
- deep relaxation
- Pain management
- improved clarity and emotional calm
- enhanced resilience and self-healing
Many individuals describe the experience as deeply peaceful, often emerging from a session feeling grounded, centered, and more at ease. The practice is complementary, meaning it is used alongside conventional care rather than as a replacement.
Biofield therapies such as Healing Touch, Reiki, and related modalities have been incorporated into hospitals, cancer centers, and wellness programs nationwide, particularly in settings seeking to reduce stress, promote comfort, and support the body’s natural healing processes.
This event follows previous Healing Touch Team programs at Byram Shubert Library, which drew full groups and enthusiastic feedback from participants seeking accessible ways to improve wellness.
All are welcome.
