Longtime Kennel Manager Appointed Executive Director at Adopt-A-Dog!

Many know her as Kristen Alouisa. The longtime kennel manager at Adopt-A-dog recently married and is now Kristen Rice.

Another change for the dog lover, who works closely with Events Manager Brian Gordiski, took place just this Tuesday. Kristen was officially made Executive Director of the shelter on Tuesday. Kristen worked for many years with her predecessor Allyson Halm who recently moved on to become an Animal Control Officer in New Canaan.

At a recent Saturday afternoon adoption event at Adopt-A-Dog, a record-setting four dog adoptions were completed.

Originally at Adopt a Dog, Buddy became a therapy dog and volunteered at Hamilton Avenue School.

(Both Allyson and Kristen hold a special place in the GFP edietor’s heart because they rescued Buddy, who was adopted by this editor. Buddy was a pit bull mix who became a therapy dog and enjoyed visits to Hamilton Avenue School and North Mianus School.)

Adopt-A-dog also has a new President and Chair of the Board as well, Andre Bohy.
