Junior League of Greenwich Invites High School Girls to Apply for 2024 Community Service Award

The Junior League of Greenwich has announced the opening of applications for its $2,000 Community Service Award.

The award recognizes an outstanding female high school student who exemplifies the mission of the Junior League of Greenwich by demonstrating a passion and commitment to community betterment through volunteerism.

The award is open to girls in grades 9-12 who attend school or reside in Greenwich. The Junior League of Greenwich has been offering the Community Service Award since 1996 with past winners chosen for volunteer efforts at their school, outside organizations, or independent projects of their own initiative.

Last year’s recipient, Celine Fong, used her talent for art to help others in Greenwich. One of her highlighted projects was a partnership with the Greenwich Police Department’s Special Victims Unit (SVU) where she designed and painted a mural in the SVU waiting room.

Applications for the 2024 Junior League of Greenwich Community Service Award can be found at www.jlgreenwich.org.

The submission must include two written recommendations from non-family members familiar with the student’s volunteer activities. The deadline for application submission is April 1, 2024. The recipient will receive the award and $2,000 prize at a reception in late spring.
