RMA Speaker: What will the November election look like?

You’re invited! Miles Rapoport, former Secretary of State for Connecticut will address the Greenwich Retired Men’s Association via webinar on Wednesday, Sept 16 at 11:00am.

Less than two months from the election, the challenges of holding a full, fair, and well-administered elections are truly unprecedented. Vastly increased mail in balloting amid upheaval at the post office, keeping polling places safe during a pandemic, anticipated delays in counting ballots, and more, all in the most polarized moment in recent memory, will challenge election administrators and American democracy as never before.

What is the state of play, what steps are being taken, and can be taken, to keep our election safe in Connecticut and nationwide?

Miles Rapoport is currently the Senior Practice Fellow in American Democracy at the Ash Center of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

He served in the Connecticut legislature representing West Hartford from 1984-1994, and as Connecticut’s Secretary of the State from 1995-1998.

He also served as President of Demos, a public policy center in New York City, and as national President of Common Cause.
