Junior League Announces Dates for Its Free Positively Me! Program for Grade 3 Girls.

On Monday, December 4, the Junior League of Greenwich will open enrollment for its Positively Me! Program for 3rd-grade girls.

During the 2-day session, girls participate in icebreakers to get to know one another, and participate in a variety of activities including meditation, Yoga, dancing, drawing, crafts, and special projects.

These activities help the girls develop the skills to be confident, make good decisions, be assertive, and express themselves – all while meeting new friends and having lots of fun!

This year, the Junior League of Greenwich is adding “Netiquette” to the program, teaching girls how to conduct themselves online to make good choices for their digital footprints.

“For over 17 years, Positively Me! has been the top self-esteem and anti-bullying program for girls in Greenwich. This year, we are so pleased to be able to pilot a new component centered around social media and the internet. With study after study discussing the disturbing effects of social media on young girls and women, we feel this is a great time to begin the dialogue and give girls the tools they need to make good decisions and advocate for themselves,” explained Karen Hasterok, Junior League of Greenwich President.

Three sessions are available. Each session runs two days, Friday 5:00 pm – 8:30 pm and Saturday 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. Attendees must attend both Friday and Saturday of their session. Sessions will be taking place at the Junior League of Greenwich Headquarters.

This year’s sessions will be held:

  • Friday, February 2 – Saturday, February 3, 2024

  • Friday, March 1 – Saturday, March 2, 2024

  • Friday, April 5 – Saturday, April 6 2024

There is no cost to participate, though space is limited and will be assigned on a first come first serve basis, so please register soon.

Registrations will be confirmed by email in mid-January.

Please direct all inquiries to [email protected], including questions about being placed on the waiting list.
