On Saturday Cos Cob celebrated rang in the season with its annual Winters Eve Festival, with assorted family friendly activities behind the Cos Cob Firehouse.
Children of all ages lined up for rides in the antique fire engine, and the parking lot was dotted with tents where people could find a hot or cold drink, write a letter to Santa, craft a holiday card or donate gift for Toys for Tots.
At dusk, Santa swept in on a fire truck to the delight of children who lined up to sit on his lap and tell him their Christmas wishes.
