Local non-profit The Undies Project is running their first floral-themed spring campaign with a beloved partner: Something Special, a florist based in Old Greenwich.
Their campaign, Hope Grows This Spring, aims to bring awareness to their mission to bring dignity, personal health, and self-worth to our neighbors through access to brand-new underwear and bras.
The campaign will run from May 23-June 20th, 2025, and aims to raise $12,000. The theme of florals is also to celebrate growth and the 10th anniversary of The Undies Project.
Executive Director Laura Delaflor said, “I cannot thank the support of the community enough. It’s our 10th year of The Undies Project, and without our generous supporters, thousands of our neighbors would go without something we take for granted every day: clean undies and bras.”
Why the goal of $12,000?
“$12,000 would cover two months’ worth of donations to the shelters we’re donating to in June and July. It’ll be especially helpful for so many kids that can’t rely on school-based resources this summer. We’re working hard to reach every person we need to, and the need is growing,” said Stephanie Seligman, Manager of Development and Philanthropy.
Underwear and bras are the least donated items of clothing, and people finding themselves in shelters or crisis centers do not always have access to undergarments. As the only organization both locally and nationally addressing this, The Undies Project has developed a waiting-list of organizations needing their help.
Each donor will be entered to win a free bouquet from Something Special, with flowers from the themed donation tiers.
The tiers’ names were thoughtfully inspired by local blooms. The owner, Lisa, is donating her floral masterpieces to support the cause. The tiers, such as “Rose Realm,” will feature bouquets corresponding to the tier’s theme. The top donation tier, Order of the Orchid, will showcase luxurious orchids. The bouquets will be hand-delivered to the winners’ homes.
The Undies Project’s first donor to donate more than $10,000 will not only be able to dedicate the name of the tier to whomever they choose but also will be featured on The Undies Project’s website for a whole year.
