Goodwill is set to open a second retail store and donation station in Stamford. Anyone who frequents the 1 West Broad Street, Goodwill knows parking is scarce and the store is a busy and popular destination for residents of Darien, Stamford, Greenwich and beyond.
Located at 587 Elm Street in Stamford, the new 16,576 square foot store and donation station will employ more than local 65 people.
The store will boast 11,300 square-feet of retail space, offering customers greater variety than the average department store, with thousands of one-of-a-kind finds including apparel for the family, home décor, electronics, furniture and more.
Donors will appreciate this Stamford store’s covered drive-thru donation station making donating hassle-free.
There will be attendants on hand to help unload donations from vehicles and provide donors with tax receipts.
“We’re excited to open our second retail store and donation station in Stamford, a community that is a wonderful supporter of Goodwill,” said Vickie Volpano, President and CEO, Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut.
“This second Stamford location will compliment our original store in the community with a convenient drive-thru donation station, ample parking, and large sales floor,” Volpano added.
The new Stamford location also marks the 20th Goodwill store to open in western and northern Connecticut. The store has hired 45 new employees and looking to fill 23 additional positions. Interested applicants may visit www.gwct.org.
