GHS National Day of Service “One-for-One on Nine-One-One”

Screen Shot 2014-09-08 at 2.42.56 PM For the fifth year, Greenwich High School students and staff will answer President Obama’s proclamation making September 11 a National Day of Service and Remembrance by aiding those less fortunate than ourselves.

At GHS there is a pledge to collect 2,985 cans of food, one in memory of each life lost that day, for donation to Neighbor-to-Neighbor, a nonprofit organization serving residents in need throughout the Greenwich area.

Screen Shot 2014-09-08 at 2.43.06 PMThis year, with the help of the Roots and Shoots Club and others, we will collect non-perishable food items for ONE DAY ONLY. On Thursday, September 11, club members will accept donations in a cordoned off section in the middle of the Student Center, which will serve as a memorial throughout the day.

All students and staff are asked to donate one, or more, non-perishable, non-expired food item(s) on Thursday, September 11.
