5th Annual Golf for Abilis to be Held at Trump National Golf Club

The Golf for Abilis tournament will be held at the Trump National Golf Club in Briarcliff Manor, New York on Monday, Sept. 26, 2016 (rain or shine).

For the fifth consecutive year, Greenwich resident Fred Trump will host the tournament.

The all-day event begins at 9:30 a.m. with a shot-gun start at noon, and includes breakfast, lunch, cocktails and dinner, as well as a silent auction with unique golf and travel packages.

Golf for Abilis offers the opportunity to play on one of the nation’s premiere golf courses, while supporting a vital community organization. Proceeds from the event help Abilis provide state-of- the-art therapeutic and life services to over 700 individuals with a wide range of intellectual, developmental, social, emotional, and physical challenges.

Trump, an advocate for individuals with special needs has his own personal connection with Abilis. His youngest child, 17-year- old William, had a severe seizure disorder as an infant. William was later diagnosed with cerebral palsy and received early intervention therapy from Abilis as a toddler.

“Abilis played a major role in my son’s life when he was young and continues to provide important social and recreational opportunities for him as a young adult,” said Trump. “This is a great opportunity for me to give back to an organization that has helped my family and so many others, who benefit from its knowledgeable and dedicated staff.”

Golf for Abilis raises critical funding for Abilis during a period of uncertain government funding. “We are so appreciative and grateful for Fred and Lisa Trump’s continued involvement and generosity,” said Abilis CEO/President Dennis W. Perry. “We all look forward to this special day of golf and camaraderie in support of the local special needs community we serve.”
