Fairfield County’s Giving Day on March 10th exceeded all expectations. In just 24 hours, thousands of community members joined together to give nearly $1.25 million in support of 410 local nonprofits.
Initiated in 2014 by Fairfield County’s Community Foundation, with lead sponsor Bank of America, Giving Day is a 24-hour period when everyone in Fairfield County was encouraged to “give where you live” by going to FCGives.org and donating to participating local nonprofit organizations.
As region’s biggest philanthropic event, Giving Day empowered all of our community to make a difference.
Community-wide events, nonprofit performances and a groundswell of support led to widespread buzz and excitement. This enthusiasm led to a 17% increase in giving from last year; and a 65% increase in giving from 2014. A total of $3,069, 284 has been raised from three years of Fairfield County’s Giving Days!
