The Greenwich Audubon and the Town of Greenwich’s Environmental Affairs Department are co hosting a Vernal Pool Night Walk on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Audubon Greenwich, 613 Riversville Road, 203-622-6461.
It’s that time for the spring awakening in the wetlands.
At 6:30pm vernal pool experts Denise Savageau, Michael Aurelia, and Ted Gilman will help you get up close and personal with some of the creatures who make the vernal pools their home.
After learning inside we will put on our mud boots for an evening hike to the vernal pool.
We will listen for mating calls and look for salamanders, frogs and egg masses.
Bring flashlight, boots and binoculars.
The event runs 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
