Potentially Habitable planets around Low Mass Dwarf Stars

The Astronomical Society of Greenwich will be holding a talk by Dr. Rodrigo Luger, Flatiron Research Fellow,  Centre for Computational Physics, on April 7 at the Greenwich Library  (Cole Auditorium) 101 West Putnam Ave at 3:30pm: ‘In Search of  Habitable Planets’. This talk is a free event.

Dr. Luger will discuss our current understanding of the occurrence rate of planets in the habitable zone, with a focus on those orbiting low mass stars.

He will highlight the most promising candidates in future searches for life and discuss various techniques being developed for ascertaining their atmospheric composition, surface features, and potential presence of biosignatures.
