The family of Al DiMarco III is hosting a benefit on May 18, 2025 for Project Music in his name for all who made or enjoyed the local music scene over the last 50-plus years.
Al was fortunate to be “born into” music, following his Dad (still a working jazz man 75 years later), got hooked at a young age, committed to study, and it became his life’s passion. Al enthusiastically supported Project Music’s model of offering kids the chance to learn and grow with music education four days a week, a concept that Al championed in addition to his personal music endeavors.
Sadly, he passed away at his home in Louisiana in 2023 with so much more to give but barely the time to say goodbye.
The call is out to Al’s many musician colleagues and friends, to reunite, remember him and other music-makers who have passed on, re-create the vibe, and give a little back to help sustain the magic of music for future generations.
Please get tickets and join us on May 18 from 3:00-6:00pm for:
• A video presentation including some of Al’s original songs and a commemorative photo montage
• Live music featuring his Dad, his sister and musicians who shared the stage with Al in many bands and showcases locally, across the States and abroad
• An opportunity to reconnect, reminisce and groove with others who lived that magical era
Casual party attire please, dance shoes recommended!
• Light fare to be served
• A cash bar
The event is May 18, 2025 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.
The Water’s Edge, Giovanni’s Restaurant, 2748 Post Road, Darien, CT
