Off-Beat Players Announces their Summer Musical Production: Wizard of Oz

Off-Beat Players, OBP for short, the Greenwich-based theater company devoted to teen and young adult performers with and without disabilities has announced their summer musical production for 2023: The Wizard of Oz.

The show will be performed at Greenwich Country Day School Performing Arts Center, 401 Old Church Rd in Greenwich.

Performance dates are as follows:

Thursday, August 3 at 7:30 pm
Friday, August 4 at 7:30 pm
Saturday, August 5 Matinee at 2:00 pm
Saturday, August 5 at 7:30 pm

The Wizard of Oz is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Tams-Witmark LLC. The Wizard of Oz, by L. Frank Baum with music and lyrics by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harsburg, background music by Herbert Stothart, Dance and Vocal arrangements by Peter Howard, orchestration by Larry Wilcox. Adapted by John Kane for the Royal Shakespeare Company, based upon the classic motion picture owned by Turner Entertainment Co. and distributed in all media by Warner Bros.

Based in Greenwich, Off-Beat Players currently includes approximately 30 teens and young adults who come together each summer to produce a fully staged musical with live orchestra. Established in 2007, the group is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit charitable and educational organization.
