Food Rescue US announced its annual benefit, Celebrate Food Rescue US, an evening dedicated to fighting hunger and reducing food waste in Fairfield County and communities nationwide.
The event will take place on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 6:00pm to 9:30pm at The Loading Dock in Stamford.

This year, Food Rescue US will award its prestigious Visionary Award to Greenwich resident Rob Mathes, an Emmy Award-winning, Tony- and Grammy-nominated arranger, composer, music producer, and director.
In addition to his internationally recognized contributions to music, Mathes has been a dedicated supporter of Food Rescue US, using his annual Holiday Concert for the past four years to help raise awareness and funds for the organization. This award honors not only his artistic excellence but also his steadfast commitment to making a tangible impact in the fight against food insecurity.
“When we rescue food, we’re doing something remarkable – we’re feeding those in the community who need it most while keeping perfectly good food out of landfills. It’s a simple act that creates ripples of positive change for both our neighbors and our environment,” said Melissa Spiesman, Food Rescue US CEO. “This event allows us to bring our community together to celebrate this incredible work.”
