The Flinn Gallery announces an Artist Talk: Alignments on Saturday, January 15 at 1:00pm. The Flinn Gallery is located inside Greenwich Library at 101 West Putnam Ave.
Alignments features three artists whose abstract work overlaps in color, strata, and form.
Greenwich native Meghan Brady, Ben Godward and Erika Ranee will speak about their work in conversation with the curator, Tracy McKenna, and answer questions from the audience.
These three dynamic artists triangulate around shapes and strata in their work, embrace supercharged color, and overlap in the physicality of their mark making.
Please join. An artist talk is a great opportunity for artists to talk in depth about their work, process, and influences.
“The artists in Alignments overlap in their physicality of making, highly articulated material vocabularies, and place a particular emphasis on color and strata in their work,” said show curator, Tracy McKenna.
“The artists in Alignments overlap in their physicality of making, highly articulated material vocabularies, and place a particular emphasis on color and strata in their work,” McKenna added. “The planning for Alignments began over two years ago, with the intention of bringing Greenwich-native Meghan Brady’s paintings home from Maine where she now lives, and showing them in conversation with new art peers. Chosen for their visual intersections, both Erika Ranee and Ben Godward, like Brady, serve as points of connection, catalyzing opportunities for their own New York City art communities over the years.”
The exhibit runs December 16, 2021 – January 26, 2022.
