The First Congregational Church of Greenwich (FCCOG)’s 2022-2023 First Music & Arts Concert Series kicks off with NYC-based Baroque Pop/Rock trio The Sundots on October 16, 2022 at 4:00pm in the Meetinghouse.
The Sundots are a baroque pop/rock band founded in Detroit, MI and based in NYC. The trio includes Constantine Novotny (Lead Vocals, Piano), Efthimi Matsamakis (Bass, Vocals) and Daniel Seiderman (Drums).
Their fundamental sonic elements are strong baritone vocal melodies, contrapuntal explorations on piano and guitar, funky electric bass, and powerful rock ‘n’ roll drums. Their meticulously crafted songs explore the standard universal themes of human existence: love, heartbreak, and fresh fruit.
Musical influences from rock, pop, 90s dance, and the Renaissance-Romantic eras form a melting pot of their sound, creating kaleidoscopic variety while still being undeniably themselves. The trio’s energetic and theatrical live act is filled to the brim with grace, quirk, charm, and a healthy dose of baroque ‘n’ roll our website is www.thesundots.com
“We’re excited to welcome The Sundots to kick off our concert series,” said Dr. Craig Scott Symons, Minister of Music. “They’re an extraordinarily talented pop trio, and they’re the right band to welcome everyone to a new year of music programming, which includes our 56th Annual Messiah Concert on December 10th, Lenten Organ Recitals on Wednesday afternoons through Lent in March, and a Chamber Wind Concert on April 23rd with Orchestra Lumos, formerly the Stamford Symphony.”
