Check out Sandy’s Summer Stand in Its New Spot at 33 River Rd

If you are a longtime customer of Sandy’s Summer stand, which used to operate behind the old Fjord Fisheries building at 89 River Road, hopefully you know that she’s moved her operation to 33 River Road.

Look for her signs by the Riverscape Marina, and proceed under I95 for the familiar blue tent and stand.

We visited Sandy on Friday and her stand is bursting with produce including Connecticut blueberries, corn, cucumbers, tomatoes and zucchini. Sandy explained that most of her produce comes down daily from the area north of Hartford, where she said the soil is black and rich.

She also has fresh mozzarella, lettuce, and basil in special coolers. On the counter there is ginger, garlic and asparagus, so plan an interesting recipe today!

Sandy’s Summer Stand is open daily from 9:00am until 6:00pm through September.

Earlier this summer, Jenny Graham, visited Sandy’s Summer Stand, telling GFP that she is a vegeterian and is delighted that the stand moved closer to her home. “I make tomato, cucumber and onion salad all the time. I marinade it in apple cider vinegar and salt & Pepper, and keep it overnight in the fridge,” she said.
