Art to the Ave is Back in 2025: Greenwich Ave to Transform to “art gallery”

Art to the Ave is Back. Whoever said that art and commerce don’t mix was clearly mistaken.

For 28 years, Art to the Avenue has been doing just that. Each May, with the overwhelming support of the Greenwich business community, the Arts Council turns Greenwich Avenue into a strolling gallery.

This year the event runs from May 1 to May 26.

On opening night on May 1 will feature receptions at most locations for the hundreds of visitors who attend to preview the work of local artists. Most locations are on Greenwich Avenue, but there are also participating businesses on the side streets.

Opening night activities are from 5:30pm to 8:00pm, will also include live music on the lawn outside 299 Greenwich Ave (home to Greenwich Arts Council) from the Whimsy Trio, which includes Greenwich High School graduate Chase Elodia. There will also be a live demonstration from John Higby who is known as “the yo-yo guy” and has performed around the world.

The art selected by the retailers – including stores, restaurants and other businesses – remains on display through May 26, which is Memorial Day.

More information, including a map of participating businesses is available on the Greenwich Arts Council website here.
