Greenwich’s Annual Veterans Day Patriotic Walk and Ceremony Set for Wednesday

On Veterans Day, Nov 11, Greenwich Town Hall will be closed for regular business, but the Holly Hill Resource Recovery Center will be open for its regular hours from 7:00am to 2:30pm.

All are invited to take part in the annual march down Greenwich Avenue on Nov 11 to the American Legion Post 29’s ceremony at the historic post office, now home to RH, where the World War I obelisk is located in a triangular park.

The town wants as many of local veterans and their families as possible to take part in the march, which will begin at Amogerone Crossway and move down to the memorial.

The march will begin at 10:30am and is fun for everyone walking as well as for those watching and applauding local veterans.

The march is being organized by the American Legion Post 29 in association with the Greenwich Police Dept and the Horseneck Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

During this time, Greenwich Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic from Amogerone Crossway to Arch Street so pedestrians can safely march.
