The popular Sip & Shop Greenwich event benefiting Swim Across America – Fairfield County returns on Thursday, November 5, from 12:00 to 9:00pm, at Innis Arden Golf Club, 120 Tomac Ave in Old Greenwich.

Nancy Carr and Roseann Sarica Benedict.
The community is invited to shop a curated marketplace of local and independent vendors, enjoy cocktails with friends (cash bar), and discover fabulous finds. This year’s event is bigger and better than ever with expanded hours and an extended list of vendors — both returning and new ones — who are all excited to offer a wonderful pre-holiday shopping event and support a good cause.
Admission is free and open to the public (no denim, please). Plus, bring your unwanted gold and silver jewelry or flatware for on-site selling and turn your old treasures into $$$, then keep shopping.
Net proceeds from the event benefit Swim Across America – Fairfield County to support cutting edge cancer research.

“The Sip & Shop is such a fun way to come together as a community while supporting life-changing cancer research,” said Nancy Carr, event organizer and event director for Swim Across America – Fairfield County. “Cancer touches all of us in some way — and every purchase helps fund promising cell and gene therapy research that can make a real difference. In fact, funds contributed by Swim Across America – Fairfield County support our local beneficiary, Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy (ACGT), based right here in Fairfield County and support cancer cell and gene therapy research that leads to safer and more effective treatments.”
Nancy Carr and her co-event organizer Roseann Sarica Benedict, have worked together for the past 11 years bringing the annual Sip & Shop to Greenwich and supporting Swim Across America.
Nancy Carr, who is also a personal stylist, works directly with the vendors and curates the mix for the event.
“I’m always on the lookout for something new — a designer, maker or brand that hasn’t been seen everywhere else,” Carr said. “That sense of discovery is a big part of what makes Sip & Shop so much fun. We’re bringing together a really interesting mix of vendors and products, and the fact that every purchase helps support cancer research, makes shopping feel even better.”
For Roseann Sarica Benedict, a local top-selling real estate agent and lifelong Greenwich resident, her community connections help bring the event to fruition.
“Every year we have so much fun organizing and putting on the Sip & Shop event,” Benedict said. “It’s been amazing to see how the event has grown – and this year is the most exciting of them all with a variety of fabulous vendors and extended hours from 12:00pm to 9:00pm, to accommodate everyone in the community to come out and sip and shop.”

Sip & Shop Greenwich has supported Swim Across America – Fairfield County since its first shopping event in 2016. Swim Across America – Fairfield County held its first open water event in the community in 2007 and holds the event annually each June on the border of Old Greenwich and Stamford in Long Island Sound. The organization is part of a national nonprofit dedicated to raising money and awareness for cancer research, prevention and treatment through swimming-related events, including open water swims in more than 27 communities across the country – from Nantucket to under the Golden Gate Bridge.
Founded by Darien, Connecticut, resident Matt Vossler and his college roommate Jeff Keith in 1987, the nonprofit organization’s roots are firmly anchored in Connecticut. Locally, Swim Across America – Fairfield County has donated more than $7.5 million to Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy (ACGT), the nation’s only foundation dedicated exclusively to funding cancer gene therapy research. One hundred percent of funds contributed by Swim Across America to ACGT go directly to cancer research. To learn more visit swimacrossamerica.org/fc
