From the town of Greenwich. Periods of heavy showers and potentially strong thunderstorms are expected Thursday afternoon through the evening.

  • Heavy rainfall: 1.5–2.5 inches is possible in the Flood Watch area, with locally higher amounts.
  • Peak rainfall rates: Approximately 2–2.5 inches per hour are possible.
  • Flash flooding:The greatest threat is expected between 6:00 PM and midnight, with scattered to numerous instances of flooding possible, particularly in:
    • Urban areas
    • Poor drainage areas
    • Low-lying locations
    • Areas near quickly responding streams and waterways
  • Thunderstorms: Some storms could become strong to severe, with damaging wind gusts the primary concern. An isolated tornado cannot be completely ruled out.
  • Transportation impacts: Flash flooding could result in road flooding and localized transportation disruptions.
