The Greenwich Tree Conservancy is now accepting nominations for its 2026 Treasured Trees program, which celebrates remarkable trees on private properties throughout Greenwich.
Nominations are open through August 1.
Now in its eighth year, the Treasured Trees program recognizes trees that inspire admiration for their beauty, uniqueness, or the memories they represent.
A Treasured Tree may be cherished for many reasons: a special memory or family story, its history, a unique shape, beautiful spring flowers or fall foliage, its impressive size or age, or simply the joy it has brought over the years.
Trees will be evaluated by a panel of judges, including the Town of Greenwich Tree Warden.
Judges consider ornamental value, uniqueness, pedigree, size, age, and, most importantly, the personal story behind the tree.
If selected, your tree will receive a custom nameplate mounted on the trunk, courtesy of the Greenwich Tree Conservancy. Honorees will also be celebrated at a reception at Sam Bridge Nursery & Greenhouses on October 22, where they will receive a framed photo of their tree and its commemorative nameplate.
Winning trees will become part of the Conservancy’s official Treasured Trees roster.
Every tree has a story. The Greenwich Tree Conservancy invites you to share yours.
