On Monday morning, Representative Town Meeting moderator Alexis Voulgaris announced the June 8 meeting is postponed.
“Due to the severe power outage many of us experienced this weekend and the difficulty members and/or residents may have either driving to the meeting or participating via Zoom (which is difficult if you have no power and don’t own a generator), I am recommending that the full RTM meeting be postponed to Monday, June 15 at 8:00 pm in Central Middle School.”

The power outage impacted almost every customer in Greenwich for several hours on Sunday. It was determined by Eversource to have been caused by the giant American flag atop the World Wrestling Entertainment building in Stamford flying into a transmission structure on Saturday during the storm. That caused about 5,000 Stamford customers to lose power. Then, when the flagĀ was being removed by crews it flew into a second circuit, causing outages to Greenwich and more Stamford customers just before 1:00pm.
