Greenwich Jazz Legend Al DiMarco Celebrates 90 Years with a Live Musical Reunion

Al DiMarco — a vibraphonist, bandleader, and beloved fixture of the Greenwich music scene for decades — invites the community to join him in celebrating his 90th birthday on Saturday, May 9, from 2:00 to 6:00pm at the First Congregational Church of Greenwich, 108 Sound Beach Ave, Old Greenwich.

A longtime Greenwich resident whose music has touched generations of listeners, DiMarco has spent a lifetime building community through jazz, performance with the intention of making people happy.

This milestone celebration is a reflection of that spirit: a special reunion bringing together many of his longtime musician friends for an afternoon of live vibraphone, storytelling, and dancing.

Guests can expect an afternoon of improvisation, rotating performers, and plenty of room on the dance floor. Joining him will be his daughter Natasha, herself marking a milestone year. She will perform alongside the ensemble.

Light fare will be provided. Guests are welcome to bring their own beverages. In lieu of gifts, Al requests donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The venue kindly asks that guests refrain from bringing balloons.
