Learning What it Means to be a Greenwich Volunteer Firefighter

More than a dozen Greenwich residents took the first step Thursday evening to becoming volunteer firefighters. The Glenville Volunteer Fire Company hosted Greenwich Deupty Chief Tom Lenart, along with volunteer district chiefs from Sound Beach, Byram, Round Hill, Amogerone, Cos Cob and Glenville, as they delivered an introduction to what it means to be a Greenwich Volunteer Firefighter.

Greenwich Fire Department is a combination Fire Department comprised of 100 career firefighters and over 120 volunteer firefighters who respond to approximately 4000 emergency calls each year from 8 stations located throughout the town.
