Christ Church Announces “Carols by Candlelight” on Dec 21

Christ Church announces “Carols by Candlelight” (Aka “Nine Lessons and Carols”), a free service sung by the Choirs of Christ Church Greenwich on Sunday, December 21, 5:00 – 6:00 pm. Wine & cheese reception to follow.

Come to this beautiful candlelit choral service weaving together scripture readings, carols, and hymns, celebrating the story of the birth of Christ in a deeply moving and joyful way.

Featuring the Choir of Men and Boys, the St. Cecilia Choir of Girls, and the Christ Church Singers, the music is magnificent, led by Music Director Jamie Hitel and Associate Music Director, Jonathan Vaughn. This service is famous for being sung every year at the King’s College Chapel in Cambridge, England. With the glorious acoustics of the Christ Church Greenwich Main Sanctuary, the evening promises to inspire and uplift all who attend.

Admission is free, and all are welcome to join us as we prepare our hearts for the beauty and wonder of Christmas.

About the Christ Church Choir Program:

As one of the leading music programs in the United States, we offer excellence through opportunity. Through regular performances they sing a wide variety of music at Christ Church, elsewhere locally, and through regular visits to English Cathedrals.

Our choirs offer opportunities for those aged four and older. Through our vibrant rehearsals, members learn singing technique, music theory, music history and occasional theology appropriate to the age group. Our most advanced singers receive international accreditation through the Royal School of Church Music awards system, and many alumni go on to sing at universities here and abroad, as well as pursuing careers in music.
