Rota: Vote for Fred Camillo and Lauren Rabin; Real Leaders, with Strong Track Records

Submitted by Adele Rota, Glenville

It is easy and necessary to speak in theories and platitudes when you have no track record and no specific accomplishments to point to. I listened to Anthony Moor at two debates and it became abundantly clear that he doesn’t understand how the representative form of government that Greenwich operates under actually works.

Having been a news reporter doesn’t in and of itself qualify someone to become a Town Selectman. I don’t know about you but the words “news” reporter and from California in the same sentence are frightening to me. I don’t think there is anything about how California is run that I’d like to see brought to our New England Town.

Also, you cannot have a to do list such as the candidate espouses without significantly raising taxes. Thats ok, but please at least be “a real leader” and be honest that is your plan.

Do not espouse that you support “low and predictably” taxes when everything you stand for points to exactly the opposite.

To be either so naive or misleading as to purport that having a position of Town Traffic Engineer will solve all our traffic problems is merely a deflection.

What has the candidate said about addressing the tremendously flawed 8-30g legislation that plagues not just our Town but our State; and what about Work, Live, Ride?

This flawed legislation has brought housing to places in Town where it otherwise would never been permitted – but the Democrats in Hartford have tied the hands of our local Planning and Zoning Board.

Ryan Fazio and Fred Camillo were both instrumental in convincing Governor Lamont (a Greenwich Town resident) to veto HB5002, the most damaging piece of legislation for our Town since 8-30g was passed in 1989.

It is important to note that there is an upcoming special legislative session on housing beginning November 12. The goal of the Democrats is to take away ALL local zoning control which would forever change the face of Greenwich as we know and love it. For more information see:

What credentials and coalitions does the candidate have to bring pressure on the Democrat majority in Hartford who have nothing but disdain for Greenwich, don’t take my word for it, listen to any one of the housing hearings. Yet they want our money to irreparably change the charm and character (these terms they say are “code” for racism and bigotry) of not just Greenwich but towns and municipalities across our State.

The same goes for working with our neighbors in Westchester regarding issues of importance to our Town.

I urge you to to join me in voting for the Fred Camillo and Lauren Rabin; real leaders, with strong track records, specific accomplishments, established bipartisan coalitions and a desire to continue to keep Greenwich the type of place we want to live.

Sincerely,
Adele Rota
Glenville
