Jackie Budkins brings innovation and experience to the Town Clerk’s Office and lucky for us, she is running again!. Town Clerk Jackie Budkins has demonstrated a willingness to become involved in new technologies which make her office more efficient She has three new services available to online customers as well as visitors to Town Hall.
One of the new additions is for the 230 member Representative Town Meeting allowing both remote and in person participation. Jackie has included an “app” for members to vote. The results have made the following meetings and the related voting a thousand times more successful. It has had overwhemingly positive responses from the members of the RTM. Of course, with continued use and needed updates there will be increased successes as well as additional improvements.
Residents are now able to use online services including dog licensing and subsequent renewals, e-recording for land records and an online payment platform for vital record requests. We now have a Property Alert System free to residents. It will allow property owners to monitor and inform themselves of amendments to their property records.
There are many more responsibilities that come with the title. From ensuring dogs are properly licensed, issuing marriage licenses to dispensing birth certificates when needed. They all fall under her purview. Jackie is always available and ready to help.
Another of her services is to visit homebound people who request a ballot so they can vote.
Jackie’s commitment to secure and timely elections has not gone unnoticed. Her work continues to meet and exceed the standards expected by the community and the state.
Perhaps most notably, Jackie has completed the coursework and hands-on training to become a Certified Connecticut Town Clerk – a clear reflection of her dedication to the role.
Town Clerk Jackie Budkins understands our growing town population includes an ever increasing number of sophisticated technology users. One of her overall goals is to make the Town Clerk’s Office readily accessible to all – walk-ins as well as online users!
Jackie’s leadership qualities include always being welcoming, courteous and willing to assist visitors. Jackie has an immense sense of community which is clearly demonstrated through her willingness to serve as Town Clerk as well as
extensive volunteerism. Please support Jackie’s return to the Town Clerk’s office!
