Two distinguished speakers will make appearances at Temple Sholom (300 East Putnam Avenue) this fall as part of the synagogue’s dynamic programming line-up designed to empower, engage and inspire.

On Monday, September 8 at 7:00 pm, Eylon Levy will lead a powerful presentation on “How to Speak About Israel with Confidence.”
Eylon Levy is Spokesofficeman for the State of Israel, who became one of the most globally-recognized voices for Israel in the October 7 War.
He previously served as international spokesman to President Isaac Herzog after a career as a television news anchor. He now heads the Spokesoffice, a civil society initiative to advocate for Israel and the Jewish People on international media.

Abigail Pogrebin
On Wednesday, October 29 at 7:30 pm, journalist, author and podcast host Abigail Pogrebin will share highlights from the arc of her career, stories of the Jewish icons she has interviewed over the years, and her experiences as an Emmy-winning producer at CBS News 60 Minutes and at PBS.
Abigail’s book, My Jewish Year: 18 Holidays: One Wondering Jew, was a finalist for the 2018 National Jewish Book Award, and her 2024 book, It Takes Two to Torah: An Orthodox Rabbi and Reform Journalist Discuss and Debate Their Way Through the Five Books of Moses, won the 2025 Independent Press Award for Religion Nonfiction. Her written articles have appeared the New York Times, The Atlantic, The Forward, Tablet, Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.

Both guest speakers will be moderated by Temple Sholom congregant, Dr. Gavriel Rosenfeld, President of the Center for Jewish History and Professor of History at Fairfield University.
